WEST MUSGRAVE 600-PERSON CONSTRUCTION CAMP & 350-PERSON PERMANENT LIVING HUB

Project Overview

Our directors were part of the team that supported the delivery of site accommodation infrastructure for the West Musgrave Project in Western Australia - one of Australia's most significant recent mining developments. This involved two distinct but integrated facilities: a 650-person construction village to house the peak workforce during the build phase, and a 350-person permanent Living Hub designed for long-term operational use.

Scope

The construction village comprised approximately 400 rooms alongside central dining, administration, recreation, gymnasium, and maintenance facilities, with utilities and parking infrastructure to support light vehicles, minibuses, and coaches. The permanent Living Hub was a more complex undertaking - 350 single-occupancy modular rooms with private ensuites, five integrated precincts spanning accommodation, administration, catering, recreation, and utilities, a 325-seat dining hall, café and production kitchen, two inflatable sports domes, and a standalone power, water treatment, and wastewater treatment system. The Living Hub was procured and delivered under an ECI contract model with a 26-year design life.

Delivery

The construction village was operated throughout the build phase and decommissioned on handover to operations. The permanent Living Hub was delivered as a long-term asset, built to serve the operational workforce well into the future. Our team played a central role in the broader West Musgrave site infrastructure programme for OZ Minerals/BHP, with Michael leading the accommodation and non-process infrastructure packages.
